ULTRASOUNDS
Abortion or carrying to term? The first step in this important pregnancy decision is having a first-trimester ultrasound, which provides very important information regarding what is happening in your body and what your options may be, including:
- that the embryo/fetus is in the uterus (not in the fallopian tubes, which can be fatal)
- that the embryo/fetus has a heartbeat
- what your estimated due date is, based on the size the embryo/fetus is measuring
Your free ultrasound will be performed by a registered nurse who has undergone extensive ultrasonography training. The information you learn in this appointment (such as how far along you are) will guide you further as you make your pregnancy decisions, such as what abortion procedures are available to you. We do not provide abortion services or referrals. We provide free medical verification of pregnancy.
If you feel comfortable with a support person, we encourage you to bring them with you to your appointment, but your conversations with the nurse and your medical history will be kept confidential.
These ultrasounds are provided under the direction and supervision of a licensed physician for the purposes of determining gestational age, checking for heartbeat, and making sure it’s an intrauterine pregnancy.
